Cookin' with Brass plays a musical gumbo that nods respectfully to traditional New Orleans groups like The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Rebirth Brass Band. Their ecstatic stage shows are inspired by such great contemporary brass bands as Youngblood and Lucky Chops. These influences create a truly unique modern West Coast Funk.

Cookin' With Brass has performed at such major festivals as The Harrison Festival of the Arts, SurreyFest, The Harmony Arts Festival, The Surrey Fusion Festival, Hats Off Days, Hyack Festival, The Surrey Tree Lighting Festival, Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival, The Irish Fusion Festival and Surrey's Canada Day Celebration. They have brought their Funky Brass sounds to many special events including The Vancouver Symphony Day of Music, The Whiskey Smoke at Hastings Racecourse, Granville Block Party and the Main Street Car Free Day.
Cookin' With Brass has performed numerous community concerts including Concerts in The Park (Hope BC), Summer Nights in The Township (Langley), Mission Twilight Concert Series,Mount Pleasant Pop Up Concert, Downtown Poco Friday Nights and Sounds of Summer in Surrey. They have played many conventions and corporate events for such clients as Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of BC & Yukon and Probiotica Americans.
Cookin' Wth Brass has also performed at formal Gala evenings for Family Services of Greater Vancouver, Business Laureates of BC and The Peace Arch Hospital Foundation ...even a few weddings!

Cookin' With Brass is a collective of 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, sax, tuba and drums. Based in Vancouver BC, the band features diverse, talented musicians that proudly include female and BIPOC horn players. Their mission is to spread joy and a sense of community through Funky brassy music. The signature finale of every concert breaks the barrier between musicians and audience with a boisterous interactive 2nd line parade through the crowd. The joyful release of such incredible musical energy is cathartic. Every performance of Cookin' With Brass is a shared experience of all people harmoniously celebrating together.
